Committed to enhancing the well-being of Rhode Islanders through various charitable initiatives, the Champlin Foundation has played a crucial role in revitalizing the Historical Society building. In 2020, the Champlin Foundation granted us financial support that enabled us to address critical restoration priorities outlined in phase five of our architect's plan which were completed in 2023. The Champlin Foundation's funding facilitated the installation of new storm windows on all the third-floor windows as well as the first and second-floor windows restored during the West Gallery restoration, providing essential protection and insulation.
The impact of the Champlin Foundation's support extends beyond the physical restoration of the Woonsocket House. By contributing to the preservation of this historic structure, the Champlin Foundation has played a vital role in connecting the community with its past, ensuring the building's continued significance as a National Register structure in the Old Harbor Historic District.
